Suren — commissioning and managing smart buildings from a phone
Suren is the app installers and building administrators use to set up and run Suren Systems' building hardware: touchless elevator calling, lighting zones, and door and gate access. One Flutter codebase ships to both Android and iOS. Installers register a building, upload floor plans, pair Bluetooth devices floor by floor, program them, and run a full elevator test before handing the building over to its owner.
Works without Wi-Fi — exactly like Brisq's cleaner app must
Elevator shafts, basements and mechanical rooms have no reliable signal, so the Suren app talks to devices directly over Bluetooth Low Energy and syncs with the cloud backend when a connection is available. Installers scan, pair and program hardware on site with live signal-strength readings, and the app handles timeouts and flickering signal gracefully. This is the same offline-first pattern Brisq's cleaner app uses for checklists and photos inside buildings.
Many buildings, many roles
Every building is its own top-level space with its own floors, devices and users. Four built-in roles — Installer, Building Admin, Manager and User — each see different actions, and admins can create custom roles and permission sets. Ownership can be transferred, buildings move from Draft to Completed, and users are added or removed as people move in and out. Brisq uses the same model: customers, cleaners and the operations team each get their own view, scoped per building.
- Multi-building management
- Offline-first (Bluetooth, no Wi-Fi)
- 4 roles + custom permissions
- Floor plans & device pairing
- End-to-end install testing
- Ownership transfer & handover
- One codebase, Android + iOS
- Cloud sync when connected
How this applies to Brisq
Multi-building structure → each Brisq partner building is its own scoped space. Offline-first field app → cleaners complete checklists and upload photos with no signal, syncing later. Role-based access → customers, cleaners, building managers and the command center each see only what they should.
